ILatium Morini
More than forty years ago, Ilatium Morini was founded as an agricultural company: small, humble, but driven by great enthusiasm. Until recently, the winegrowers‘ income was handed over to the local cooperative winery. Now seven siblings and cousins have inherited the business, which has reached a considerable size and demands their energy and full commitment. The love of country life and the joy of viticulture were the main factors in the creation of Ilatium Morini. They produce high-quality, regionally typical wines such as Soave and Valpolicella, as well as an outstanding Ripasso and Amarone. It is the quintessence of the warm territory of Illasi, whose elegance reveals the result of a past steeped in history.
The origin of the village dates back to the ancient Romans, who, on their way to conquer distant lands, found there an ideal place for the cultivation of vines, olives and fruit trees. The locals called them the Latii, i.e. “those from the Ilatian” and considered them “Forresti”, foreigners Custodians of two thousand years of history, the name Ilatium is intended to remind all those who appreciate good wine that the winery has ancient and noble roots, as well as the style of their wines: traditional and noble.
