Even the most complicated things sometimes find expression in a word, a color, a gesture, a step, a smile, a look. The third fundamental element of Oprisor is the simplest and the most difficult to explain: the earth.Seen day after day, worked to exhaustion, heated to unbearability and frozen beyond the tip of the spade, the vessel for the endless tribute of sweat, the earth becomes so much a part of daily life that, without feeling it, it becomes invisible.

And yet this earth gives back a lot. It is about being attentive and seeing how immeasurably much of the earth returns. King of vines and wines, Cabernet is the cornerstone of Oprisor, the winery’s outstanding product, just like Brasov with the Black Church and Paris with the Eiffel Tower.

The three complex wines that appeal to the heart and mind naturally include a Cabernet Sauvignon. Embarrassingly simple, could be the accusation. But it is not!

There are six wines with different ages, different barrels, older or newer, from grapes harvested in different parts of the vineyard, each wine brought to its full expression. To unite them into a wine, as with the most complex challenges, means talent, love, hard work and above all: an understanding of the place.

Oprisor’s Cabernet Sauvignon says more about the winery than words can convey. It combines days of calamity, frost and heat with days when no sane person would leave Oprisor. Stormy, fiery, rich, intelligent, convincing, enveloping, fragrant as a piece of heaven and tasty as a “wine of wisdom” – the aura of this characteristic Cabernet is not far from the seal of a terroir wine. It is the coat that Oprisor puts on when he goes out into the world.
