Winery DOMENIILE SAHATENI Aurelia Vișinescu
Selection ANIMA Chardonnay
Sahateni vineyards are located in the heart of Dealu Mares at the foot of the Carpathian foothills. Cold nights are followed by fruit fog, helping to preserve the natural acidity and delicate aroma during ripening.
The 5-month aging in French barrique gives the wine oak and vanilla notes. In addition, there are intense aromas of tropical fruits, banana and pineapple. On the palate the texture is creamy, rich and mineral with hints of nuttiness. This white wine has a long storage potential.
Serve this wine chilled with dishes with cream sauce, lobster, turkey, pork, desserts and butter tarts.
A special wine from a limited edition of 10,732 bottles.

About Domeniile Sahateni
Founded by oenologist Aurelia Visinescu and Steve Cacenco in 2003, Domeniile Sahateni, also known as “Aurelia Visinescu Wines”, is now one of the best wineries in Romania.
The family business attaches great importance to the most modern technologies and the development and care of the winery and vineyards.
The winery is located in the heart of Dealu Mares, one of the most prestigious wine regions in Romania. The region is known for its quality wines, which is why Dealu Mare is also considered the Bordeaux of Romania.
The vineyards in the Carpathian foothills cover an area of 82 hectares and are located in the villages of Sahateni, Naeni and Fintesti. At the foot of the vineyards are grown white wine varieties and Pinot Noir. Further up you can find red wine vines that need more time for maturation.
Domeniile Sahateni cultivates both traditional Romanian vines such as Feteasca Alba, Tamaioasa Romaneasca and Feteasca Neagra, and international varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The aim of the winemakers is to produce wines that express the individual character of the grape variety under the strong influence of the terroir. The single varietal wines and cuvées are mostly vinified in small barrels.
Passion and dedication run like a thread through the various selections of Domeniile Sahateni. The administration is located in the capital Bucharest while production, quality assurance and logistics are directly at the winery.
The wines enjoy great success in Romania and in international markets such as China, Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, France and the USA.
Aurelia Visinescu studied oenology in Bucharest in 1993 and then completed various internships in South Africa and Australia. In Romania, she was the first woman to study oenology, venturing into the male-dominated field of study to date.
